Start by visiting https://store.steampowered.com. Make sure you’re on the official site to avoid downloading from fake or malicious sources.
On the homepage, click the “Install Steam” button at the top right.
Then click “Install Steam” again on the download page.
This will download the setup file (SteamSetup.exe on Windows or Steam.dmg on Mac).
Double-click on the SteamSetup.exe
file.
Click “Next” and choose your preferred language.
Choose the installation location or use the default.
Click “Install” and wait for the installation to complete.
Open the Steam.dmg
file.
Drag and drop the Steam icon into your Applications folder.
Open your Applications folder and double-click Steam to launch it.
After launching Steam, it will automatically download and install the latest updates. This might take a few minutes depending on your internet speed.
If you don’t have an account yet, click “Create a New Account” and follow the instructions.
Already have an account? Just log in with your username and password.
Congratulations! You're now inside the Steam platform. You can browse games, add free or paid titles to your library, and download them instantly.
Enable Steam Guard under settings for extra security.
You can install Steam on multiple computers and access your library from anywhere.
Make sure your graphics drivers are updated for the best gaming performance.
